Alyson Parker

We thought we had seen the last of the action before this five-handed SugarRush Challenge final table went on break but in the last hand of Level 27, the biggest pot of the tournament played out. Alyson Parker and Jerry Johnson got over 8,000,000 in the middle, with Johnson spiking a two-outer to score the knockout.

Action was picked up with Parker opening to 250,000 from middle position and after a few folds, Johnson, from the blinds, three-bet to 500,000. Parker thought for a minute and then slid out three full stacks of yellow 25,000 value chips but before she could complete that motion, Johnson announced “all-in”. Parker snap called and Johnson realized that he was in bad shape.

He held QQ♣ to Parker’s AA♠ and suddenly, over 70% of the total chips in play were up for grabs. Parker stood from her chair, along with the rest of the table, and silently awaited the run out. She didn’t get past the flop before her aces were bounced to second place, as the Q♠52 setted up Johnson.

The 7 fell on the turn and Parker quietly said, “Put a damn diamond out there.” but the dealer didn’t listen, pairing the board with the 2♣ on the river instead. When the stacks were cut down, Parker’s 4,100,000 was covered by close to another 1,000,000, meaning she was eliminated in 5th place. She’ll make just shy of $7,000 for her deep run and we are now heading on break with Jerry Johnson controlling over 9,500,000.
