Zhenjie Hou hit a set on the flop to double through Brian Hastings on one of the first hands after break. He’s now paying near the 1,000,000 chip mark, while Hastings is near the chip average.

Zhenjie Hou returned from the short post-Level 24 break with the shortest stack and very quickly his 455,000 was up for grabs, as he shoved from middle position. Brian Hastings called as the next player to act and when the rest of the table folded, Hou saw that he was drawing to just two immediate outs.

The short stack held 7♣7♠ and Hastings was in a great position to score the knockout with 9♣9♦. That was, until one of Hou’s two outs came on the flop, as the board ran out 7♦6♠5♣4♠K♦, with the river being emphasized by a Hou fist pump.

It was a relatively small double and a small chip out of Hastings’ stack but Hou is now playing just shy of 1,000,000 after bottoming out with a sub ten-big blind stack. Hastings is playing the better part of 1,700,000.
