Anton Sonova
In the first hand back from break, another player hit the rail as Anton Sonova and DJ MacKinnon got involved in a sizable pot in a late position encounter. That action was picked up with Sonova opening to 12,000 from the cutoff and after some thought, MacKinnon clicked it back for 35,000.
The button and blinds folded and Sonova took inventory of his stack before announcing himself “all-in”. MacKinnon snap called and had his opponent dominated and covered, holding A♦K♣ to Sonova’s A♣Q♠.
The board ran out A♠K♦4♣4♠Q♣ and after flopping his opponent nearly dead, he scored the knockout. Sonova will make just under $600 for his final table run and DJ MacKinnon is now playing the better part of 375,000 just a few minutes into Level 16.
