It’s hard to kill a worm and Joe Palma has been a near impossible target to hit on Day 2 of the PPC Main Event. Palma pulled a double through Abe Faroni and knocked Paul Tong in the process to move into the chip lead.
Faroni opened under the gun for 225,000 and received calls from Tong in the cutoff along with Peter Miranda in the small blind and Palma in the big blind. The A♠J♣5♣ flop checked to Tong, who moved all-in for 875,000. Miranda folded and Palma re-jammed for 1,765,000. Faroni called to put the two players at risk with A♣K♦ and was ahead of Tong’s A♦3♦ but drawing nearly dead against Palma’s 5♦5♥.
The turn bricked and Palma shipped the pot to move up to 5,300,000 while Faroni drops to 2,300,000. Tong was the last of the Day 2 entries in the main event and will earn almost $15,000 for his run.
