PPC Main Event (Day 2): 3rd Place – Abe Faroni ($40,434)

Level 32 (125,000/250,000/25,000)
Total Entrants: 511

Players Remaining: 2
Average Stack: 9,140,000

Abe Faroni fought as hard as he could but will end up finishing third in the PPC Main Event.

With the blinds up once again, there were less than 75 big blinds in play for the three main event finalists. Relatively even in stacks, one hand could be the deciding one and Joe Palma found a double to cripple Abe Faroni, who was then fully done in by Michael Hager.

Palma said he wanted to try and get the tournament done within this level and did his part to keep that end of the bargain by getting his last 5,950,000 in with 10♠10 against the 88♠ of Faroni. The AA♠3♣Q♣7 board ran clean for Palma and Faroni was crippled down to 1,000,000. Unlike Hager before him, Faroni could not mount a miracle comeback and was eliminated by Hager himself. Heads up play is underway now between Hager and Palma. A look at the chip counts is below.

  1. Joe Palma – 14,500,000
  2. Michael Hager – 3,800,000
