PPC Main Event (Day 2): Worm Time Hits Before Dinner

Level 20 (8,000/16,000/2,000)
Total Entrants: 511

Players Remaining: 23
Average Stack: 794,000

It’s officially “Worm Time” inside SugarHouse as Joe Palma is at his peak for the PPC Main Event with 23 players remaining.

Joe Palma is no stranger to deep runs in East Coast event and is well-equipped to make another final table after flopping a full house to eliminate Julian Calin. The man they call Worm is nearing 1,000,000 chips and his ever-present toothpick is getting more sharp with every pot.

Calin limped in from under the gun and Palma pushed the action in early position to 50,000. Action folded back to Calin, who called, and the flop came out K♣K9♠. Calin checked and Palma down-bet to 35,000. Calin called and the 7♠ hit the turn.

It didn’t take long for Calin to move all-in for 135,000 and it took Palma even less time to call with 9♣9. Calin was drawing dead with 6♣6♠ and Palma took in the pot without needing a river.

Now up to 975,000, Palma is peaking late and becoming a force in the PPC Main Event. The field is on a 60-minute dinner break and play will resume at 9:00 pm.
