PPC Main Event (Day 2): Play Slows Downs, More Day 2 Entries Getting Stronger

Level 17 (4,000/8,000/1,000)
Total Entrants: 511

Players Remaining: 63
Average Stack: 290,000

The pace of eliminations has reduced dramatically since the start of Level 17, only nine players from the money bubble. The action overall might have slowed down, but two more Day 2 buy-ins are starting to build at the right time.

Josias Santos came in at the beginning of Level 13 and has built his stack from 120,000 to close to 400,000. If Santos and his white zip-up look familiar, it’s because Santos recently took down the Parx 300 in February for a $68,000 score. There is plenty of end-game experience needed to take down a tournament such as this and Santos certainly has the chops necessary.

On the other end the registration period, Paul Tong bought in near the end and hit the ground running. Tong is near the chip lead with 500,000 and closing in on his first career cash at SugarHouse and potentially his first career five-figure score.
