PPC Main Event (Day 2): Paul Tong Goes Set-Over-Set To Ascend Back Into The Chip Lead

Level 19 (6,000/12,000/2,000)
Total Entrants: 511

Players Remaining: 32
Average Stack: 571,000

Paul Tong has the good problem on his hands of having to stack a bunch of chips after going set-over-set on Mike Lagnese in the biggest pot of the tournament.

Paul Tong flopped a set on the money bubble and picked up a huge pot as a result, and is now once again the PPC Main Event chip leader after going set-over-set to eliminate Mike Lagnese.

Tong opened for a standard raise on the button and Lagnese called on the button to see a 10♣93 flop. Tong continued for 50,000 more and Lagnese said “all-in” for about 800,000 with Tong snap-calling behind to create the largest pot of the tournament.

Lagnese showed 3♣3♠ but was in for a cooler as Tong turned over 99♠. Needing a one-outer, the turn and river bricked to give Tong the pot. Once the stacks were counted down, it was confirmed that Tong had Lagnese covered and he is the chip leader with about 1,720,000.
