PPC Main Event (Day 2): Paul Tong Bursts Bubble, Hits Chip Lead

Level 17 (4,000/8,000/1,000)
Total Entrants: 511

Players Remaining: 54
Average Stack: 339,000

Paul Tong put the PPC Main Event field in the money and is the new chip leader with 54 players left.

Hand-for-hand play lasted toward the end of Level 17 but before Level 18 arrived, Paul Tong eliminated Ryan Delaney to secure the field a $1,048 payday.

Tong limped in from under the gun and Delaney put in a raise to 38,000 in the hijack. The rest of the table folded back to Tong, who raised the action up to 196,000, which represented most of Delaney’s stack.

Delaney tanked for close to three minutes before saying “let’s do it” and moving all-in for 283,000 total. Tong called and turned over 88, which was flipping against the AK♠ of Delaney. The drama was ended on the flop when an eight came right in the window. Tong locked up the double and racked up 840,000 to move to his next table.

Now officially in the money, Tong is the new chip leader as the main portion of Championship Sunday is underway.
