SugarRush (Day 2): Marder Climbs At The Expense Of Faroni

Level 26 (30,000/60,000/10,000)
Total SugarRush Challenge Entries: 735
Players Remaining: 9
Chip Average: 2,325,000

Michael Marder was under 20 big blinds a few levels ago but is now hovering near 3,000,000 at the SugarRush Challenge final table.

Since the elimination of Travis Hartshorn, the pace of play has slowed at the final table. With the average stack right below 40 big blinds and the next spot on the payout ladder worth almost $1,000, it certainly makes sense for players to think through all their decisions.

One of the most experienced players at the final table, Michael Marder is well familiar with the spots that are bound to come up and just took down a healthy pot to boost his stack over the chip average.

Jesse Cohen opened for a standard raise from early position and Marder called on the button, as did Rocco Faroni from the big blind. The three players took in a flop of 107♠3♠ and action checked to Marder, who bet 225,000. Only Faroni called and the 5♣ hit the turn.

Faroni checked and Marder bet 500,000 more. Faroni considered his options and folded his hand, giving the pot to Marder, who is all the way back from his early deficit and is up to 2,500,000. Faroni is healthy with about 3,650,000 but is now only 150,000 ahead of Brian Frasca and Schuyler Twaddle for the chip lead.
