Daniel Bak doubled up toward the end of Level 27 but bled chips for most of Level 28. Bak was soon back under 20 big blinds and with Mike Ta out of the danger zone, could not afford to be as patient and wait for a pay jump. Bak got his money in as flip but found himself on the dirty edge of the coin.
Brian Frasca opened for 200,000 out of the hijack and Bak three-bet all-in for 1,515,000 from the small blind. Frasca confirmed the amount and called with 8♣8♠ and had the K♣Q♥ of Bak at risk.
Bak took the lead on the K♠Q♠J♣ flop but Frasca was still live to hit a set or flush. The J♠ turn put the flush draw fully in play and the 6♠ river confirmed Bak’s worst nightmare.
Bak stared blankly at the board and hit the rail shy of his first SugarRush victory. Frasca is now over 6,000,000 and the chip leader.
