SugarRush (Day 2): Tim Oleske Doubles Up And Then Some With “The Blades”

Level 23 (15,000/30,000/5,000)
Total SugarRush Challenge Entries: 735
Players Remaining: 21
Chip Average: 995,000

Tim Oleske is officially out of the danger zone after picking up pocket aces and getting maximum value.

Tim Oleske came into Level 23 as one of the short stacks left in the SugarRush field but is now over the chip average for the first time in recent memory. Oleske picked up pocket aces at the perfect time and found a double through Michael Balasa to chip up to 1,100,000.

Schuyler Twaddle opened from the hijack to 70,000 and Balasa three-bet to 175,000 in the cutoff. Oleske four-bet jammed for 495,000 out of the small blind and Twaddle got out of the way. Balasa didn’t look thrilled to call, but did, and saw he was in trouble as his A♠K had seven percent equity against Oleske’s A♣A.

The J♠86 left Balasa needing runner-runner but a brick on the turn ended the hand. Oleske is over the chip average and Balasa now needs a double of his own as he is down to 500,000.
