Wen Zhang’s perch near the chip lead didn’t last long as Mike Ta turned a full house and doubled up to take command of the leaderboard.

Wen Zhang is now on the rail after being near the chip leader earlier in Level 22 as a result of the largest pot of the tournament playing out between him and Mike Ta. Ta turned perfect and picked off Zhang to move over 3,500,000 as the field hits dinner break.

Ta opened the button for 55,000 with A♣6 and Zhang called with AJ♣ to see a A♠6♠5 flop. Zhang bet 125,000 and Ta put in a raise to 450,000, which Zhang called. The 6 hit the turn and Zhang slowed down with a check.

Ta bet 450,000 and Zhang moved all-in for effectively 880,000 more and Ta called with Zhang drawing dead to chop. The river didn’t provide Zhang with the case ace and once the smoke cleared, Ta stacked up to 3,700,000. After taking the hit, Zhang was left with 280,000 and eliminated by Jonathan Gonzalez a few hands later.

The remaining 22 players are on a 60-minunte dinner and will return to battle it out for SugarRush supremacy. Play resumes at 9:40 and everyone in the field will be looking up to Ta, who is playing four times the chip average.
