Level 17 (4,000/8,000/1,000)
Total SugarRush Challenge Entries: 735
Players Remaining: 74
Chip Average: 283,000
As is usually the case, a few of the players who elected to exercise their Day 2 buy-in option are in the money of the SugarRush Challenge. Making the money is nothing new for two of these players, who are chasing down yet another final table finish.
DJ MacKinnon entered at the last possible moment before Level 16 and is in the process of spinning up his sub-20 big blind stack. It’s been a busy week for MacKinnon, who took fourth in the WPT DeepStacks Main Event at Parx on Monday for his first career six-figure score. MacKinnon took home $10,000 more at the Fallsview WPT Main Event earlier in the month and is looking to bookend a spectacular few weeks of poker.
Travis Hartshorn took his seat at the start of Level 13 and got to work immediately. Hartshorn has been building all day and now sits among the chip leaders with 550,000. The end of 2016 was tremendously prosperous for Hartshorn, who took down a Parx title and the Borgata Fall Poker Open Main Event for a combined $400,000. End game experience is a great asset to have and Hartshorn has plenty of it to leverage as the field narrows down.
