Level 16 (3,000/6,000/1,000)
Total SugarRush Challenge Entries: 578
Players Remaining: 70
Chip Average: 220,000
The money bubble is officially busted and the remaining players in the SugarRush have all secured a payout ticket. Tom Goshaw was the odds-on favorite coming into Day 2 to make the money as he started play with the chip lead. Goshaw’s stack hit a downswing during the early levels but he has rebounded to back to 450,000 thanks in large part to a double through Dave Weiss.
With about 120,000 in the middle, Goshaw checked from the hijack to Weiss in the cutoff on a 6♥5♠4♣8♥ board. Weiss put out a bet of 50,000 and Goshaw moved all-in for 167,000. Put to the test for the larger part of his own stack, Weiss thought for a few moments about what to do next and found a call with 10♣10♠.
Goshaw revealed 9♣8♠ and needed to hit one of his few outs to survive. Sure enough, the 7♦ hit the river to give Goshaw a straight and cripple Weiss. With his newfound ammunition, Goshaw is once again among the chip leaders. As it currently stands, Eric Doerr is out in front with 700,000.
