SugarRush (Day 2): 7th Place – Jeff Wicker ($3,887)

Level 25 (25,000/50,000/5,000)
Total SugarRush Challenge Entries: 520
Players Remaining: 6
Chip Average: 2,355,000

7th Place: Jeff Wicker ($3,887)

What started as a promising final table for Jeff Wicker quickly went south. Wicker doubled up John Attanasio on the first hand of play and never fully regained his footing from there.

Once Kevin Johnson was eliminated, Wicker followed him out the door with Ed Smith taking care of business there. Attanasio opened for 140,000 and Wicker jammed for 1,275,000 from the hijack. Smith then came over the top from the button and Attanasio released. Wicker would be at risk in a near 50/50 flip with 2♣2 against Smith’s A♣K♣.

The K103♣ flop left Wicker drawing as thin as a straw of hay. The turn and river were both aces improving Smith to a full house as Wicker hit the rail.

Smith is now playing 3,550,000 and is once again the SugarRush Challenge chip leader.
