SugarRush (Day 2): Tony Cheng Hitting His Stride

Level 15 (2,500/5,000/500)
Total SugarRush Challenge Entries: 520
Players Remaining: 70
Chip Average: 186,000

Tony Cheng is another Day 2 buy-in playing well above their 100,000 starting stack. Cheng found a double through Rosendo Guerrero and is approaching 400,000 before the first break of the day.

We noted that Rosendo Guerrero had the task on his hands of dealing with Kevin Grabel and Tony Cheng at his table here on Day 2. Guerrero was able to avoid trouble for the first two levels but eventually found himself trapped in the buzzsaw of the two dangerous players. Cheng bought in at the start of play today and found a double through Guerrero to send himself toward the 400,000 mark while Guerrero is now down to 60,000.

Kevin Grabel opened to 13,000 from early position and Cheng three-bet to 35,000 from the hijack. Guerrero flatted the raise on the button and Grabel got out of the way. Cheng continued for 24,500 on the 5♠4♠4 flop and Guerrero responded by putting Cheng at risk for his last 75,000.

Cheng obliged and flipped over A♣A as a crushed Guerrero showed K♠K. The turn and river blanked out and Cheng is now approaching the chip leaders. Guerrero is still alive but has a long climb in front of him to rebuild his stack.
