SugarRush (Day 2): “The Godfather” Is The First Over 1,000,0000

Level 19 (6,000/12,000/2,000)
Total SugarRush Challenge Entries: 520
Players Remaining: 30
Chip Average: 471,000

Ed Smith is the first player to cross the 1,000,000 as he is the current chip leader on Day 2 of the SugarRush.

We’ve been keeping a keen eye out for the first player to reach 1,000,000 and it would appear Ed Smith is just that player. His table has taken to referring to Smith as “The Godfather” for the manner in which he has been bossing his tablemates in the last level or so.

Smith was under the 500,000 at last pass by his table but is now playing double that amount thanks in part to his elimination of Jason Sally. With under 10 big blinds, Sally shoved from early position and Smith flatted on the button.

Sally would need help with his A9 staring Smith’s K♣K right in the face. The QJ♣6 flop was a boost to Sally’s chances with the flush draw. The 8♣ turn gave him outs to a straight, but alas, the 9♣ river would be the last card he would see today.

It will be interesting to see if Smith’s new table continues to “kiss his rings” but for now, friendly confines are treating him fine as he is the current chip leader.
