Chris Caruso sent Matt Zambanini to the rail in one of the biggest pots of the tournament as he moves over 1,000,000.

More big pots are taking place with the field moving toward the final table and a 1,000,000 chip pot erupted between Chris Caruso and Matt Zambanini to send the latter to the rail.

The hand started innocently enough with Geno Raman opening for 45,000 from the cutoff and Caruso flatting from the big blind. Zamabanini then squeezed the action up to about 175,000 which led Raman to fold. As soon as Raman’s cards hit the muck, Caruso moved all-in for 362,000 more.

Zambanini was befuddled by the action in front of him and would have to risk his tournament life of 350,000 to call Caruso’s shove. Noting how his three-bet effectively committed him, Zambanini called with A8 and would have work to do to catch Caruso’s AK♠.

The 75♠3 flop gave Zambanini a few back doors. The 7 increased those outs to a diamond flush draw but the A♣ river sent the pot to Caruso as he is now among the chip leaders. Zambanini will collect $1,093 for his finish as the field is two away from another redraw.
