One of the more interesting parts of poker is the random nature of who makes it deep in a given event. While there is some variance in makes a run on a given day, over the long run, the same faces tend to keep popping up as the three players below can attest to.
Eric Rivkin rarely takes a break from the tournament grind and today is no different. Rivkin travels year-round across the country searching for big scores and is at SugarHouse today looking for another one. Rivkin recently finished eighth at the WPT Choctaw event for $82,000 score and is in search of a tournament win today to supplement what has been a great year.
Kevin Grabel won the first event held at the new SugarHouse poker room in January of this year and hasn’t looked back since. Grabel has put together the best year of his career with the high water mark being his consecutive wins in the May Big Stax series at Parx. Grabel just final tabled the Almighty Stack event at the Borgata Poker Open and is in the hunt for another notch to add to what has been a record-breaking year.
The last time a SugarRush Challenge took place, Robert Sichelstiel found himself at the final table and as part of the seven-way chop that concluded the event. Sichelsteil earned $8,000 for that score and will have to navigate a field of nearly 200 players more than he did in June in order to repeat his finish.
