Adam Levitan – Poker Night in America Poker Night Classic Champion

Adam Levitan began his climb to the top of the leaderboard on Day 2 of the Poker Night in America Main Event following the dinner break. Through the end of Day 2, Levitan built and maintained a massive chip lead entering the five-man final table on Day 3. And when Day 3 began, Levitan picked up right where he left off from the day before, emerging victorious after only two-and-a-half hours of play Monday.

Levitan, a Daily Fantasy Sports analyst for DraftKings and FantasyLabs, bested 201 entrants to earn $54,586 for the victory, the biggest ever tournament cash for the Philadelphia local. His previous best was a $51,000 score at a Borgata Spring Poker Open Championship Event in 2011.

Admittedly more of a cash game player than tournament grinder, Levitan said he was able to jump in this event when his wife said she would take the weekend watching their one-year-old son.

“What better way to spend a weekend off than playing poker,” Levitan said with a laugh before he was sure to thank his wife for her support in both poker and DFS. “She’s the best.”

As Day 2 neared its end, Levitan earned a reputation of three-betting and four-betting often to the frustration of his opponents, something that he said his cash game style and experience translated well into this tournament.

“People just expose themselves [in tournaments] as their folding everything except for broadway cards and pairs,” Levitan said. “And it’s hard to get those cards.”

With the score, Levitan said he might take some shots at higher buy-in tournaments or spend some time traveling, but for now, the focus for the DFS guru is family and DFS-related work.

That completes our coverage of the Poker Night in America Main Event at SugarHouse Casino.
