Joe ‘Worm’ Palma has doubled up again and declared to the remaining field that it is officially ‘Worm Time.’

We’ve mentioned his accolades many times before, but once again, Joe ‘Worm’ Palma finds himself in the thick of the action deep in a major tournament. Palma has steadily grinded through Day 2 and found a double-up to bring him near the chip average with 24 players remaining.

After a John Attanasio opened to 20,000, Palma moved his last 170,000 in the middle and found a call from Attanasio. Palma opened JJ♠ and was flipping against the A♣Q♣ of Attanasio.

The J♣7♠8 quickly ended the drama as Palma flopped top set. The rest of the board ran dry and Palma now sits with upwards of 355,000. Following the hand, Palma officially declared ‘Worm Time’ meaning the field is on notice that despite still having a below average stack, Palma is locked in and gearing toward another title.
